A production simulator constructs a virtual factory line model on a computer and reproduces the flow of goods to verify and analyze various phenomena. (Production, movement, congestion, storage, transportation, services, energy)
PLANTSIMULATION is a production simulator that has a wide track record in many manufacturing industries both domestically and internationally.
A computer application developed by Siemens Digital Industries Software for the modeling, simulation, analysis, visualization, and optimization of production systems and processes, material flows, and logistics operations.
What is PLANTSIMULATION?
When building a new line or improving an existing line, Plant Simulation usually uses standard work combination sheets to check for bottleneck processes and consider whether the target production volume can be achieved. However, on the actual line, the target production volume may not be achieved due to inventory backlog or AGV congestion, so on-site adjustments are required. Plant Simulation allows you to verify in-line problems that were previously difficult to confirm in a virtual space, and by reproducing the flow of people and goods in a factory, you can calculate operating rates, production volumes, costs, etc. The system enables planned mass production, vertical ramp-up of lines and visualization of investment plans and was developed as a computer application by Siemens Digital Industries Software.

Overview of PLANT SIMULATION
When constructing a new line or improving an existing line, you can generally check whether the target production volume can be achieved by using standard work combination sheets※2 and checking whether the bottleneck process is within the takt time. I will consider it in advance. However, on the actual line, the target production volume cannot be achieved due to backlog of inventory on the line or congestion of AGV※3, and it often happens that production is completed through on-site adjustments.
Plant Simulation allows you to verify in virtual space things such as inventory buildup in a line and AGV traffic congestion, which until now could not be confirmed until the actual line was constructed. Furthermore, by reproducing the flow of people and goods in a factory, it is possible to calculate the utilization rate of people and equipment, production volume, production time, energy, costs, etc.
Plant Simulation is a system that enables planned mass production, vertical line start-up, and visualization of investment plans.
